Red White & Blue gets theatrical release in the UK?

Simon Rumley’s controversial psycho-sexual thriller RED WHITE & BLUE is set for a UK theatrical and DVD release courtesy of UK distributor Trinity Filmed Entertainment.

One of the hits of last year’s festival circuit – See LoveHorror’s write up on it Here – Rumley’s red-hot, hard-edged drama, starring Amanda Fuller, Noah Taylor, and Marc Senter, which garnered rave reviews, has been acquired from Celluloid Nightmares and will be released theatrically in May 2011 to coincide with the US DVD release, currently fixed for May 17. A DVD and Blu-ray release in the UK will follow in the summer.

Mark Sandell, co-director of the Brit indie distributor, said today: “We’re so pleased to have picked up the film from Celluloid Nightmares. Simon has created something visionary and brilliant but also challenging and raw. It’s a perfect film for us – unique and uncompromising”.

Simon Rumley added: “With films like ‘Enter The Void’ and ‘Import/Export,’ Trinity has constantly shown itself to be a company which isn’t afraid to pick up challenging material and prove to the industry that there is a market for well made and provocative cinema. I’m very much looking forward to working with them on the theatrical release of ‘Red White & Blue’ for what I know will be a great experience for all involved.”

Mark Sandell negotiated the deal on behalf of Trinity and Nate Bolotin and Aram Tertzakian from Celluloid Nightmares on behalf of the filmmakers.
