Okay, so it’s going to be a straight to home/DVD release, but you can’t deny that you’re still going to be very tempted to see the latest instalment of Chucky history.
Curse of Chucky reportedly follows on from Child’s Play 3 (supposedly bypassing the films Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky) and revolves around a wheelchair bound woman called Nica.
After being reunited with her family after a funeral, Nica’s daughter Alice receives a mysterious package… A rather doll shaped package… Okay, it’s Chucky in a box.
Before long, people are dying in suspicious circumstances and it isn’t long until Nica figures out that the doll is somehow to blame.
Child’s Play fans will be happy to hear that Brad Dourif has returned the role of ‘voice of Chucky’ and by all accounts, this latest film does look to be a more creepy and less shlocky chapter in the Chucky franchise.
Curse of Chucky is chalked for a September release in the US, but if you’re eager to see it before then (and on the big screen) you can catch it at Frightfest 2013.
