Little Shops of Horror – Minifigs Me

When you love horror as much as we do you want it to permeate every part of your life, at home, at work, on the walls, on your clothes, everywhere!

That is where our new feature Little Shops of Horror comes in handy as we run through some seriously spooktastic stores and wicked websites ready to sell you truly terrifyingly awesome horror products. First up is Minifigs Me going where Lego fear to tread and offering a multitude of minifigures with menace for those looking for iconic horror characters brought to brick.

It’s a pretty common problem – you get further and further through life, without even being represented as a single minifig. It affects an alarming number of people. Just last year, an estimate made up by Minifigs Me indicated that nearly 99.9% of all people have no minifig legacy at all.

But this wonderful website is fighting this injustice every day. Offering a service to convert anyone into a tiny minifigure they have also transformed a ton of famous faces from TV and film into minifigure form. From action flicks to Sci-Fi shows, legendary musicians to historical figures best of all is the horror section which we got to have a closer look at.

Everyone knows that if you’re going to let one terrifying miniature horror baddie into your house, you might as well let them all in. That way, they may fight amongst themselves instead of hunting down a beloved family pet. So, for those of you who want to have the whole set, here’s your chance! Get all of them and these kind folks will give you a discount… OF TERROR

Below Joe from Minifigs Me took time out from making mini masterpieces to answer some questions on the site and their love of horror:

1. How did you get into making such magnificent horror merchandise?
As fans of LEGO we wanted to see our favourite horror characters immortalised in LEGO. We were also inspired by their quirky fun designs and how people could use the figures in their own mocs and town builds. It’s something that the designers are passionate about so designing them was a fun task for them to do.

2. What is your bestselling product?
I would say that our ‘Chuckie’ is the best seller, I think it’s because that we designed him on short legs and the size makes him look more recognisable. Also he has quite striking features which I think we have captured well.

3. What inspires your creepy creations?
The fans of LEGO inspire our creepy creations as they often request different figures for us to make. We then sit down as a team and discuss what parts would be the best to choose and if any accessories are suitable, as we have fans of horror in the office this helps make the process a whole lot easier.

4. What is your favourite horror film and why?
Evil Dead 2- It combines such a great mix of comedy and horror- How can you not love it!

5. What scares you the most?
Our horror series sat on our shelf in the office. They are let loose every once in a while which keeps us on our toes.

6. If you had to make a present for a famous horror movie character who would it be and what would you give them?
We actually made a Leatherface for Gunnar Hansen after seeing him at a Horror Convention, We managed to get one to him before he passed and he signed one for us (its still in the office now)

We love Lego at Love Horror but the one thing it was missing was much much more horror but now we can have it all thanks to Minfigs Me. Right I’m off to make my own personalised Zombie2 minifigure!

Check out Minifigs Me for all these horror characters and much much more or take a look at there social channels below to see what they have on offer.
