Call Me looks for funding

UK Indie horror is on the rise, and as we have recently documented, calling for funding using sites like IndieGoGo is fast becoming the ideal route to take.

One new project – Call Me – comes from one of Love Horror’s buddies, Model/Actress Danielle Thompson.

The idea is based on one of those live TV girl chat shows Call Me movie horror(you know the ones). However, in this instance, the viewers are treated to more than some glimpses of flesh. Instead, they bear witness to a serial killer at work.

We caught up with Danielle for more information…

“We’re hoping to film next summer providing we get the funding in place, originally we were going to film this year but with the olympics in London it’s going to be far too crazy!”

“The teaser trailer for Call me (below) is a of fun really, meant to look like a babe show ad but then with an obvious twist at the end, the main feature is a slasher film set around a babe show when a viewer turns psycho.”

“I’m a big fan myself of 90’s slashers like Scream, Urban Legend, I Know What You Did Last Summer etc. They have a pretty cast and lot’s of blood, I also like that they also mix a bit of comedy with horror. As much as I just love horror in general I prefer it where the killers are a human as opposed to being a killer with superhuman strength or something like that. I think it adds to the element of fear when you’re watching it and ‘thinking wow, this could almost actually happen'”.

“Where Call Me is concerned, there are a few red herrings Call Medropped into the plot to keep you guessing. I’ve kept to some of the rules that go in to making a slasher film but there are some new added twists and turns”.

“We have a brilliant crew, Dan Brownlie is directing and really gets my ideas for the tone of the film, it helps that we’re completely on the same page there. And John Sellings on post is just a genius. Plus we have Lauren Bushby from Dolls ‘N’ Skulls make up in charge of the effects”.

“We have a few cast members attached already, myself, Suzi Lorraine and Charlie Bond (Strippers Vs Werewolves) and we have some in talks, Debbie Rochon, Jennifer Matter (Paintball, Dead Cert, Stalker) and Seb Castang from Lost Boys 3“.

If you’d like to see this film produced, why not help out by showing your support or putting forward some funding.
