The amazing Unrestricted View Horror Film Festival is back for its second year, running from the 30th October to the 5th November, and so is our Unrestricted Views bringing you an insight to the people behind the fantastic fright fest of films on show.

Below we talk to Jessica Messenger actress and producer of Six Hot Chicks in a Warehouse which screens on the 2nd of November at 7pm. Get your tickets HERE

Love Horror: Tell us about your film?
Simon P Edwards: It’s an unconventional, slightly silly, very strange film which pokes fun at the genre it’s supposed to sit in and equally at the male characters within the film.

Love Horror: How did you get into making horror movies?
Simon P Edwards: I didn’t really, I still work another job on top of film making. I just love making films and we wrote this (myself and Kate) back in 2011. This just happened to be a script we wanted to make but I’d say the horror elements are matched with elements of complete weirdness.

Love Horror: What is your view on horror in 2017 and how would you change it?
Simon P Edwards: To be honest I’ve not seen a lot recently in terms of the mainstream horror but there is definitely an exciting amount of talent around in the UK indie scene from what I’ve seen recently. Horror goes through phases so I’d like to see it go back to a stage where ultra realism isn’t the key element.

Love Horror: What is your favourite horror film and why?
Simon P Edwards: I grew up with the slasher genre so for that ‘Scream’ wrapped up a lot of my loves. I’m also a HUGE fan of Trick ‘r’ Treat which was just visually stunning.

Love Horror: If Hollywood came knocking and gave you anything you wanted what movie would you make and who would it star?
Simon P Edwards: I have a 2 part Idea for a horror set around Amsterdam, Nazis, and Las Vegas which would require more than the few thousand pounds SHCIAW cost to make. Cast wise, I love Liev Schreiber and growing up in the 80s/Early 90s it would involve attempting to get Phoebe Cates out of retirement.
