Horror Favourites – Nick Antosa creator of Channel Zero

Described as ‘a combination of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Twin Peaks’ (Collider) comes Channel Zero: Season One Candle Cove, one of the most terrifying and talked about series of recent years, it makes its UK DVD and Blu-ray debut thanks to Second Sight.

Inspired by a Creepypasta blog post by Kris Staub, Syfy’s spine-chilling six-part anthology series stars Paul Schneider (The Tunnel) and Abigail Pniowsky (Arrival). It has been critically acclaimed by TV and horror fans alike and now arrives for its UK home entertainment release on 30 October 2017.

We asked the creator of Channel Zero Nick Antosca to tell us all about his favorite horror film as part of our ongoing Horror Favourites series.

“My favorite horror movie changes all the time. One that I always return to is NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. It’s the movie that made me want to tell stories. I saw it when I was 9 years old. I went in the back yard immediately and started playing living dead with my legos. It holds up. I saw it at a MoMA Halloween screening years later and the audience wanted to treat it like camp, but it wasn’t. It’s still horrifying.

Another one is ANGST. That feels like a nightmare I had. It also feels like it came out of nowhere, an artifact of a diseased mind. Who is that director? That actor? They’re not recognizable people. They just made some nightmare and vanished.”

Channel Zero is out on DVD and Blu-ray on 30 October.
