Five FrightFest Facts From Crow’s Blood co-writer Clint Sears and executive producer Darren Lynn Bousman

1. Tell us about your film?
Well that’s actually what we are really excited about. “Crow’s Blood” is not a film… it’s an international TV show that brought together East and West for a new and exciting horror narrative. We are thrilled that it was chosen to be a part of the festival and that it appears to have legs well beyond the original intended audience of Japan.

2. How did you get into making horror movies?
Darren has been a horror hound all of his life, ever since his older brother started sneaking him into horror movies to keep him terrified and up at night. He broke through at 25 when his script for The Desperate was adapted into Saw II. Darren only agreed upon the condition that he could direct it as well.
Clint got in by pitching long-time friend Darren a concept a few years ago that was sold in the room on the first go. They have been developing and partnering together ever since, including this year’s alternate reality and immersive theatre project, The Lust Experience.

3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?
Darren always goes for the old school, boundary pushing horror films that shaped his young, warped mind – like Cannibal Holocaust.
Clint, off the top of his head, would go for Timecrimes. It’s a sci-fi masterpiece but also very horrifying in concept and execution and he missed it on the big screen.

4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?
Darren would go for the best use of natural horror. The mundane made horrific is always interesting and special – when executed right.
Clint would love to see an award for the best horror Foley effects (the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to film in post-production to enhance audio quality) They can often completely make the movie and are under celebrated.

5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?
Darren’s would be called “Why Am I Still Eating This?” and it would star a CGI version of the late great Dom DeLuise.
Clint’s would be called “Am I Credited?” and star someone you think you know but can’t quite put your finger on…

The UK Premiere of CROW’S BLOOD -TV SERIES takes place at FrightFest 2017 MONDAY 28TH AUGUST. Episodes 1 and 2 will be shown back to back. Get your tickets HERE
