Simon Phillips joins rapidly growing indie Black & Blue Films

Emerging film-maker Simon Phillips (pictured) has joined the board of British indie film company Black & Blue Films and will produce the horror comedy Strippers Vs Werewolves, alongside Jonathan Sothcott and Billy Murray, which goes into production on the 16th May.

Philips (30), an actor, who cut his producer teeth at the BBC, has already produced two films for Black & Blue – Brit comedy How To Stop Being A Loser (in which he also stars) and horror thriller Airborne (with Mark Hamill).

Sothcott said today: “It’s impossible not to be impressed by Simon’s capabilities as a film-maker. He is proactive, entrepreneurial and tireless and I think his joining the board is a major coup for us. The company’s film slate is growing at a rapid rate and it was important to bring in the right person to help the company to become even more successful”.

Phillips added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Black & Blue Films, I hope to be able to increase productivity to four features a year in house, and continue to explore exciting and new ways to deliver our content to an ever evolving consumer”.
