Marc Morris, co-director of Nucleus Films said today: “Nucleus Films have never taken on a project of this scale. The only way to do the definitive releases is to go back to the Italian licensors and do a deal for all the original materials to access the negatives and get them remastered properly. Because we’re a small company we can’t afford to do this without YOUR HELP to raise the money for the licensing, expert remastering, Blu-ray authoring, production of extras, artwork and BBFC classification costs”.

Fellow director Jake West added: “We want to create the ultimate collectors’ editions that you’ll be proud to own. And, if this goes well we plan to unearth many more Euro-Cult titles that we know the fans are desparate for. We want your suggestions for forthcoming titles too, so please get involved with the Euro-Cult Restoration Project. This is just the start!”3

Film critic, journalist & broadcaster Kim Newman commented: “Nucleus Films are a company you can trust with your cult movies. They lavish attention on titles that other labels would let languish on the sidelines”

Critic, author and Director of FrightFest Alan Jones said: “It’s criminal that DEATH LAID AN EGG, a genre masterpiece of the highest Italian order, has languished unreleased in its proper, vibrant and glorious form. Every Giallo lover should support the directive taken by these pioneers at Nucleus Films, They will eternally have mine if they continue to do this imperative service for fantasy lovers everywhere”.

DEATH LAID AN EGG
Jean-Louis Trintignant’s Marco lives a double life. By day, he’s a well-kept husband, married to the beautiful Anna (Gina Lollobrigida), who helps run the couple’s high-tech chicken farm. However, he also spends his wife’s money on prostitutes with whom he engages in kinky role-play, black gloves and all, and which makes him the prime suspect in a series of bizarre murders! A crazy Giallo oozing with substance and style, all backed by an Avant-garde score and with a striking pop-art backdrop. What else would you expect from acclaimed cult director Giulio Questi (Django… Kill!)?

LADY FRANKENSTEIN

However, his kinky daughter Tania (Rosalba Neri) and lab assistant Marshall continue his dangerous experiments. The pair fall madly in love, and attempt to transplant Marshall’s brain into the desirable muscular body of their servant Stephen. However, the original monster seeks revenge on the grave robbers who sold the body parts, and it soon stalks them, seeking revenge!
