MONOLITH at FrightFest 2016

imagesThe theatrical world premiere of the thriller MONOLITH will be held during the 17th edition of the prestigious Horror Channel FrightFest London (August 25th – 29th), a key event for genre film fanatics and professionals.

The UK Festival, described by award-winning director Guillermo del Toro as the “Woodstock of thriller”, will host the English-language thriller title at the Vue Cinema – Shepherd’s Bush on August 29th, with director Ivan Silvestrini scheduled to attend and introduce the film to the British Fright Festival Audience.

The film is produced by Sky Italia with Lock & Valentine, co-produced by Sergio Bonelli Editore and distributed worldwide by the Italian sales company TRUE COLOURS.

The plot of the film is by Roberto Recchioni (Dylan Dog, Orfani), and a graphic novel of the same title will be published by Bonelli and written by Recchioni and Mauro Uzzeo (Orfani) with drawings by Lorenzo LRNZ Ceccotti. The international production is directed by Ivan Silvestrini, and stars Katrina Bowden (30 Rock) in the title role, as well as featuring some of the most prestigious names from the Italian comic-strip scene. The film is scripted by Mario Uzzeo, Elena Bucaccio, Stefano Sardo and Ivan Silvestrini. Music composed, arranged and performed by Diego Buongiorno.

When Sandra finds herself on a desert road, locked outside of her car, desperation sets in as she realizes her two-year-old son is trapped inside. The Monolith, built to be the safest car in the world, soon becomes Sandra’s worst nightmare when she must find a way to crack open that steel shell to save both their lives. Nightfall in the desert brings out the dangers of wild animals and even worse, the unknown, while sunrise will turn the car into a virtual oven. Will a mother’s will be stronger than a Monolith?
