Exclusive Clip for Curse of Sleeping Beauty

1A dark new twist on a Brothers Grimm tale you thought you knew, The Curse of Sleeping Beauty gives the classic fairy tale a seriously scary makeover timed perfectly for Halloween and we have an exclusive clip entitled When Dream Become Nightmares.

With a bright young cast (including Gregory Peck’s grandson, Ethan), gorgeously sinister design and more than a touch of gothic terror, The Curse of Sleeping Beauty is for anyone who enjoyed Maleficent, The Vampire Diaries or The Twilight Saga.

Thomas Kaiser inherits an ancestral mansion that has been in his family for generations – only to learn that he has also inherited an ancient curse stemming back to the Crusades. Forced into his new role as “protector” – the guardian appointed to keep the evil demons in the house at bay – Thomas must unravel the mystery of the house, while struggling to awaken the beautiful Briar Rose, held captive in a terrifying netherworld seen previously in his dreams.2

While live action remakes of classic animated tales have become all the rage thanks to Maleficent and Cinderella, we’ve been secretly hoping for someone to put a horror spin on one of our favourite “once upon a times”. The Curse of Sleeping Beauty does just that, mixing the Brothers Grimm tale of Briar Rose’s cursed slumber with one of demons and ancient curses.

Ethan Peck, grandson of Hollywood legend Gregory Peck, plays Thomas – a young man who inherits his ancestral home as well as a new job of keeping all of its demons indoors. All the while he’s haunted by dreams of the beautiful Briar Rose (India Eisley) who is patiently waiting for Thomas to take on the role of Prince Charming and wake her with True Love’s Kiss. Peck is every inch the handsome hero as he strives to find the seductive Sleeping Beauty, whose awakening will, he believes, lift the curse on the house and rid him of his demons.

The Curse of Sleeping Beauty hurls its fresh young cast headlong into a stylishly gothic nightmare filled with Hellraiser-esque demons that really is a Halloween-feast for the eyes. As the script sends them down ever darkening routes you’ll find yourself wondering who the true heroes are, and if anyone will really find their “happily ever after”.
