2011’s Number 1 Horror so far is Insidious

Insidious

Made for less than $1.5 million, INSIDIOUS has grossed over £5.7 million in the UK and over $66 million worldwide, making it the most profitable film of the year to date and got a 4 star review right here on Lovehorror.

INSIDIOUS has continued to defy expectations, rising to the top of the UK box office on Friday 13th to claim the No.1 spot, 3 weeks after its theatrical release. The film has benefited from excellent word of mouth and has enjoyed an exceptionally slim drop week on week since its opening weekend.

INSIDIOUS sees James Wan and Leigh Whannell (the co-creators of SAW) join forces with the producers of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY to tell the story of Josh (PATRICK WILSON) and Renai (ROSE BYRNE), a happily married couple with three young children who have moved into their idyllic new suburban home. When tragedy strikes their young son, Josh and Renai begin to experience things in the house that are void of explanation.

Before long, their lives are turned upside down by demonic forces, hell-bent on terrorising their very existence. Forced to seek help and protect their family, they learn the terrifying truth…… it’s not the house that’s haunted.
