Top Five Film Quotes
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Iconic Moments Collection quote: “Oh what a day, what a lovely day!”
Love Horror’s favorite quote: “I live, I die. I LIVE AGAIN!”
George Miller blew us away with Mad Max Fury Road somehow out doing his amazing original movie over 30 years later with this reimagining containing so many more motors and much more madness. Although the Iconic Moments Collection box quote is a good one, we far prefer Nicholas Hoult’s nutty Nux driving and yelling about his impending immortality.
The Goonies (1985)
Iconic Moments Collection quote: “Hey you Guys!”
Love Horror’s favorite quote: “Goonies never say die!”
The classic 80’s kid’s adventure movie with far more horror elements than first appears including the lovable yet unhugable Babe Ruth munching monster Sloth who gets on the cover with his famous line. For us the classic comes from pre-LOTR Sean Astin as Mikey being that we used to quote it in the playground whenever someone was about to back down from a dare.
Iconic Moments Collection quote: “What’s in the box?”
Love Horror’s favorite quote: “Wanting people to listen, you can’t just tap them on the shoulder anymore. You have to hit them with a sledgehammer.”
David Fincher redefined serial killer movies with Se7en pitting Freeman and Pitt against the biblical blood shed of John Doe who murdered and mutilated his victims in a series of disturbing and disgusting ways many multiplex audiences would never forget. Yes the Iconic Moments Collection may have got THE best line right from the movies chilling climax but we do love Kevin Spacey delivering John Doe’s famous speech to the detectives, mainly because we think he has a point!
Iconic Moments Collection quote: “Don’t give him any water”
Love Horror’s favorite quote: “But the most important rule, the rule you can never forget, no matter how much he cries, no matter how much he begs, never feed him after midnight.”
Not only a brilliant kids film and a brilliant comedy horror but a brilliant Christmas film too Joe Dante’s Gremlins is great and so was its sequel. When it comes to the classic lines they are all in the scene where Billy gets a breakdown of the rules for keeping his extremely unusual pet the super cute Gizmo (which we all wished we could own in reality!) Water may be bad but midnight snacking is far worse because without it there would be no Gremlins.
Iconic Moments Collection quote: “This is Sparta!”
Love Horror’s favorite quote: “Spartans! Ready your breakfast and eat hearty… For tonight, we dine in hell!”
Say what you like about Zack Snyder… okay have you finished? Now you have that out of your system one thing that can’t be denied is his visuals flair and eye for an image. Highly influential with 300 Snyder set a comic template copied and caricatured in many other movies some super and some not but all featuring far less naked man flesh. Okay we admit Gerard Butler as King Leonidas kicking a guy in a pit screaming about where he comes from is by far the greatest line but his rabble rousing speech before the big final battle packs a hell of a motivational message for us while we are munching on our corn flakes.
