Halloween Horrors at The Round Chapel

Screening three classic horror films over three nights with a bonus matinee showing the extra exciting and terrifying twist is the location because these horror movies are being shown in a real church.

Taking place at The Round Chapel in Hackney the creators of the every popular Rooftop Film Club bring a brand new filmic experience perfect for fans of frightening films screening the devilishly good The Exorcist on Friday 28th October, the incomparable horror mockumentry The Blair Witch Project in the afternoon of Sunday 30th October with the satanic The Omen in the evening on Sunday and then the grand finale on Halloween night itself, Monday 31st October, with what else but John Carpenters 1978 classic Halloween.

With the evening movies taking place at 7.30 and Blair Witch at 4.45 the unique environment is the perfect place to heighten the atmosphere of these amazing horror films and with fancy dress not essential but encouraged to get you in the Halloween spirit there’s no doubt at all that you will be feeling a chill in your bones in the church turned cinema.

Hosted by Experience Cinema company who pride themselves on showing classic, cult and recent film releases in alternative and unusual venues around London the film club have already got audiences in the spirit of the season with a screening of the high camp horror classic Rocky Horror Picture Show which took place at Palmers Green earlier in the month and will be on again at Zippos Circus on the 6th November at Old Deer Park, Richmond.

This Halloween quartet of quintessential horrors promises to be a one off event to remember coupling the fearful filmic foursome with one of the most remarkable buildings in Hackney a Grade 2* listed church which has been a place of worship since the 17th century.

All films are shown at The Round Chapel, Powerscroft Road, London E5 0PU with The Exorcist (1973) on Friday 28th October at 7.30pm, a special matinee screening of The Blair Witch Project (1999) on Sunday 30th October at 4.45pm plus The Omen (1976) on Sunday 30th October at 7.30pm and Halloween (1978) on Monday 31st October at 7.30pm.
