Frightmare and Wizard World Conventions

This week in the US will be one of the country’s biggest horror conventions, Texas Frightmare Weekend, happening May 3rd through May 5th. This is one horror convention you don’t want to miss!

Taking place in Dallas, Texas Frightmare boasts a killer line-up including headliners George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead) and Tobin Bell (Saw) as well as a 30th Anniversary reunion for The Terminator, 60th Anniversary reunion for The Creature From the Black Lagoon, and other reunions including The Walking Dead, Aliens, Hellraiser, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Night of the Demons, and The Blair Witch Project. On top of it all, there will be various guests including my personal favorite addition, Nancy Loomis (Halloween), Michael Baldwin (Phantasm), Linda Blair (The Exorcist), The Soska Sisters (American Mary) and Sharni Vinson (You’re Next).

The guest list far surpasses what I have listed, so take a look for yourselves over at texasfrightmareweekend.com.

Another massive, but less horror, convention minneapolis-comic-con-2014-wizard-world-convention-may-2-3-4-2014-fri-sat-sun-5happening at the same time will be Wizard World Minneapolis. Their guest list included Nathan Fillion (Firefly), William Shatner (Star Trek), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Matt Smith (Dr. Who). Once again, there are many other amazing names on the list that I have failed to mention. Here is your link to check it out: www.wizardworld.com/home-minneapolis.html

I, unfortunately, will not be in attendance for either convention. I will, however, be at the very last book signing for The Lords of Salem getting Rob Zombie’s John Hancock on what was an amazing book.

So, in the end, I do miss out on meeting some amazing guests but I do get to meet one of my favorite horror directors.

There’s still plenty of time to book your tickets for these conventions. If you have the time and the means, you might find these to be well worth your time.
