10 Great Horror Films on Amazon Prime Right Now

Most of you are now well versed in the digital universe and are already using video streaming in one form or another.
And like most great inventions, once one service comes out, lots of others join in the fun. It’s probably a pain for the inventor, but gives us users lots of choice.
One such medium for streaming is Amazon Prime. You can watch it in numerous ways using different devices (or just a smart TV) and the best thing about it, is that there is a whole lot of horror to choose from.

The Mist

When a curious mist descends on a remote American town, no-one expects it to be filled with terrifying interdimensional creatures – but it is! As the survivors gather in a supermarket things get increasingly bleak culminating in probably one of the most depressing endings to a mainstream horror movie, ever.

The Evil Dead

Both the original and the 2013 remake are available to watch on Prime right now, but I’ve picked the original because it’s a piece of celluloid horror history. One of the original ‘cabin in the woods’ movies, experience what it would be like to be trapped in a shack surrounded by unrelenting demons and monsters.

I Saw The Devil

When we reviewed the film back in 2011 we described it as being “one of the most disturbingly violent films of recent times”. Not much as changed, and I saw the Devil is still not a film for those who are faint of heart. Bloody, brutal and shocking.

Kill List

This gritty and slightly unusual British horror was one of our favourites of 2011. It follows a hitman who bites off more than he can chew when he takes on a big money job that drags him and his family into a dark, terrible place.

Planet Terror

This star filled apocalyptic adventure is as explosive as it is crazy. Watch as Rose McGowan takes on zombie hoards with a machine gun for a leg and Josh Brolin frantically seeks a cure for the strange contagien that’s mutating the town. And all in the style of a classic eighties B Movie.

Brain Dead

Possibly the craziest and most gore filled film you’re ever likely to see, Brain Dead has stood the test of time because it’s just so wacky and extreme.
If you like popping eyeballs, lopped off limbs and zombie massacres, this will hit that sweet spot (and probably make it explode guts everywhere).

Demons

Like a fine wine Demons has matured with age, making it just as good (if not better) than it was when it was released back in 1985. Join an innocent group of cinema goers as they are plunged into a world of hideous monsters, intent on killing every human that they can lay their talons on.

Wolfcop

One of the newer horror films on Prime, Wolfcop is a low budget comedy horror that harks back to the pre-CGI bygone days of horror.
When an alcoholic Canadian cop has a strange encounter in the woods one night, he’s transformed into a part man, part beast crime fighting machine.
Guaranteed to make you giggle.

Audition

Audition hit the Asian horror scene at its peak, telling the tale of a man who looks for love the wrong way after being widowed. When he meets ‘the perfect girl’, it soon becomes obvious that she isn’t one to leave a relationship without a fight.
Audition is a dark and brooding warning to unfaithful men. Or maybe just all men.
